A little background on Bisu…

 

Bisu grew up in the Indian city of Kolkata. Initially a Commerce graduate from the University of Calcutta, he had been practicing yoga postures since young but it was not until after completing his degree that he became fully dedicated to yoga due to an unexpected turn in life. He refers to his coming to Yoga as his "destiny of karma". He went on to complete numerous Yoga courses, ultimately graduating with a Masters in Yoga Science from the reputed SVYASA University in Bangalore, India.

 

Bisu’s Professional Life

 

Starting out as a promising, young therapist in 2004, Bisu chose to expand his horizons by engaging in mostly short-term assignments, amassing vast experience in various fields of expertise. During his 10 years of yoga teaching, Bisu has taught in universities, hospitals and also worked with victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. He focuses on using therapeutic yoga to cure psychosomatic diseases as well as physical ailments. He feels that the greatest contribution of Hatha Yoga to mankind is its therapeutic benefits and it is his aim to promote Yoga Therapy worldwide. With his prestigious qualification and years of hands-on experience, he has become a seasoned and effective Yoga therapist in curing various ailments plaguing city dwellers.

 

Teacher of Teachers

 

Bisu has been teaching in Singapore since 2009 and has directly or indirectly influenced and inspired many new Yoga teachers. In class, his deep and calming voice penetrates even the least mindful student, instantly drawing them into a deep focus on their own practice. For serious practitioners of pranayama and meditation, he also conducts combined pranayama and meditation classes at regular intervals. He looks forward to conducting sharing sessions about yoga philosophy once the timing is ripe. He is currently based in Singapore.
